During her time with the company, Erin performed corps de ballet and solo roles in numerous full-length classical productions, including: Romeo and Juliet, Cinderella, Coppelia, The Nutcracker, Legend of Timpanogos, La Coquette, Twelve Dancing Princesses, Hansel and Gretel, as well as more contemporary ballets like George Balanchine’s Serenade and several works by Alan Hineline, Jackie Colledge, and Heather Gray. She also toured internationally, and performed at Regional Dance America Festivals throughout the United States, where she received the distinction of Honors Class student.

Erin was exposed to many pedagogical styles during her formative years, and studied with numerous wonderful and renowned teachers, including: Darla Hoover, Alan Hineline, Jackie Colledge, Alonzo King, Yi-Qi Cheng, Laura Alonzo, David Howard, and Alaine Haubert.

In 2006, Erin earned her Bachelor of Arts in Dance, with a ballet emphasis, from Brigham Young University. While at BYU, she received several talent scholarships and performed and toured with the top company–Theatre Ballet–where she was featured in principal roles, including Raymonda and Snow Queen. She went on to earn her Master of Fine Arts in Ballet Teaching and Choreography from the University of Utah in 2008, focusing on contemporary ballet choreography and learning from excellent teaching mentors like Barbara Hamblin, Attila Ficzere, and Sharee Lane.

Erin’s teaching resume is vast and includes studios in Utah (most notably Jacqueline’s School of Ballet, The Pointe Academy), the Midwest (most notably The Joffrey Academy of Dance in Chicago and Southold Dance Theatre), and the Atlanta area (most notably Studio Atlanta and Studio Dionne). She has taught pre-ballet all the way up through advanced technique classes for professional level dancers. Erin is an award-winning choreographer (1st place Choreography Design Project, Utah Metropolitan Ballet), and has created works performed at Utah Valley University, Brigham Young University, and several recitals.

Most recently, Erin served as an adjunct professor of ballet at Brigham Young University. While at BYU, she taught beginning through advanced levels of ballet technique, pointe and variations, pilates for dancers, helped direct the Showcase Ballet Company, and conducted Theatre Ballet Company rehearsals. She has also served on faculty at Emory University and Utah Valley University.

Erin continues to prioritize her own learning about best practices in regards to teaching ballet and embodied movement. She has completed two Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet Teacher Trainings–with Marcia Dale Weary and Darla Hoover; is certified in Progressing Ballet Technique; has completed several Stott Pilates Trainings, and is a certified yoga teacher.

Since starting Primary Ballet Academy two years ago, Erin’s student base has grown to over 100. She has produced two story ballets, and taken dancers to prestigious ballet competitions where they have received top awards and earned esteemed scholarships. (read more about competition results.) She is deeply grateful to have the opportunity to use her experience, knowledge and love for ballet to instill confidence and grace in young dancers.

Aubrie Owen Crandall
Aubrie Owen Crandall has been training in professional ballet since the age of 3. She began dancing with Ballet Minnesota, where she performed featured roles such as Clara and the Snow Queen in the Nutcracker and was promoted to the rank of apprentice in their professional company at 16 years old.

Aubrie has trained from coast to coast, from Philadelphia Ballet to San Francisco Ballet, and danced with Ballet West on scholarship. She later danced with Utah Metropolitan Ballet, where she had the honor of traveling to the YAGP International Finals multiple times after winning first place for four ensembles at YAGP’s Salt Lake City competition. Aubrie’s best dance memories include being invited to dance in Mexico for YAGP’s first gala there, as well as the time she was invited to be a ballet soloist in a music video with Yahosh Bonner.

Now, Aubrie attends Brigham Young University, and dances in their top ballet company, BYU Theatre Ballet, performing soloist and principal roles. She studies Exercise Science and Ballet, with the goal of training technically and physically strong dancers. She is passionate about nurturing the individual and enriching the lives of the next generation of ballet.








Olivia Newell Olivia Newell

Olivia Newell
Olivia Newell began her classical ballet training at the age of 3 with Jacqueline’s School of Ballet and joined Utah Metropolitan Ballet II at 14. Under the direction of Jacqueline Colledge, she performed in numerous productions, including The Nutcracker, Snow White, Legend of Timpanogos, Romeo and Juliet, Swan Lake, and Paquita. She also performed contemporary works by choreographers such as Heather Gray, Brittnee Squires, Jacqueline Colledge, and Ariel Wright.

After graduating, Olivia joined Kansas City Ballet’s Second Company, where she danced in productions including Devon Carney’s The Nutcracker and Giselle, Septime Webre’s The Wizard of Oz, Mark Morris’s Sandpaper, and Michael Pink’s Dracula. She currently dances with BYU Theatre Ballet, performing both principal and corps de ballet roles in works such as George Balanchine’s Serenade, Gerald Arpino’s Italian Suite, and Giselle.

Olivia has been a top performer at Youth America Grand Prix, earning 1st in Senior Contemporary and 2nd in Senior Classical at the 2021 Salt Lake City regional and advancing to the Final Round in Florida. She has received ensemble awards for works choreographed by Heather Gray and Brittnee Squires, and has earned scholarships to programs including NYC Bolshoi Ballet and Ballet Academy East. She toured Austria with the Tanzsommer Stars of Tomorrow Tour in 2019 and, in the summer of 2025, studied and performed with Paris Marais Dance School and English National Ballet School.

Olivia holds a Ballet Minor from Brigham Young University and is dedicated to educating and inspiring young dancers, passing on both her knowledge and appreciation for the art of ballet.








Isabelle Walker

Isabelle Walker
Raised in Bentonville, Arkansas, Isabelle Walker is a passionate ballet artist and instructor currently pursuing her BFA in Dance at Brigham Young University. She is a member of BYU’s Theatre Ballet Studio Company, where she performs classical and contemporary works. One of her most rewarding experiences with TBSC was performing in George Balanchine’s “Walpurgisnacht.”

Isabelle began her formal training at Dance Etc. in Boulder City, Nevada, and continued at the Northwest Arkansas Conservatory of Classical Ballet from 2014 to 2020. Under the direction of Jennifer Davis and Mariah Bordovsky she received pre-professional training through the Royal Academy of Dance, and received High Merit and Distinction in both of her official examinations. She performed annually in school productions and The Nutcracker, where she performed many roles, her favorite being Clara. In 2019–2020, she was invited by Ryan Jolicoeur-Nye, current artistic director of the Oklahoma City Ballet, to attend company rehearsals and understudy company roles for NWA Ballet Theatre.

Isabelle has also studied at The Joffrey Ballet’s summer intensive and the Martha Graham School, both in New York City, and at the English National Ballet School in London and with the Paris Marais Dance School.

Looking ahead, Isabelle plans to pursue graduate studies with the goal of using dance as a tool for healing and connection—especially among youth in underserved communities. Her mission is to make the transformative power of movement accessible to all.
